Hoardless runs on your Mac. Your scans, the file index and Hoardless AI stay on your Mac.
The only data the app sends to us is what it needs to activate your license: the license key, a one-way hash of a machine identifier and a random request nonce. Nothing else: no computer name, no app version, no file data.
Who we are
Hoardless is made by Axl Cuyugan, Zamboanga City 8000, Philippines ("we"). For anything in this policy, email support@hoardless.app.
What the app sends
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| License key | Activate and validate your license | Our license server at license.hoardless.app, which passes it to the license key API of Polar, our merchant of record |
| Machine identifier, one-way hash | Tell your Macs apart, so each counts once against the 2-Mac limit and reinstalling on the same Mac does not use a new seat. The hash is one-way; we cannot recover your Mac's serial number or hardware ID from it. | Our license server. Polar receives only its first 16 characters, as the activation label (see below). |
| Random request nonce | Lets the app reject a recorded or forged answer. A fresh random value for each request; it identifies nothing. | Our license server only |
That is the complete list. The app does not send your computer's name or the app version (its requests identify themselves only as "Hoardless").
Polar stores each activation under the label Mac followed by a short hash (the first 16 characters of the machine hash above), so you can tell activations apart in your Polar customer portal. It contains no personal name.
To work out how long your license includes updates, the license server looks up renewal purchases on Polar's side, by the customer the license key belongs to. The app sends nothing extra for this.
Like any internet request, a license check reaches Cloudflare with your IP address. The license server uses it only to limit request rates and does not log or store it. Logging is turned off for the license server, so no request log is kept there.
The app checks the license again from time to time. If it cannot reach the server it keeps working for a grace period before asking you to reconnect.
To check for updates, the app downloads a feed (appcast) from downloads.hoardless.app. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address and a user agent with the app and macOS version. The optional Sparkle system profile is off, so no hardware or system details are sent with update checks.
What stays on your Mac
- File and folder names, paths, sizes and dates found by scans
- The index at ~/.hoardless/index.sqlite and the undo log
- Everything Hoardless AI reads and writes. It uses Apple's on-device model; prompts and answers are not sent to us or to any cloud model.
- Anything an AI agent reads through the Hoardless MCP server. The server runs locally and talks only to the client that started it and the Hoardless app.
Hoardless reads file metadata, not file contents. We have no analytics, crash-reporting SDK, advertising or tracking in the app.
Purchases
Polar sells Hoardless as merchant of record. They collect your name, email address, billing address and payment details under their own privacy policy. We receive your order details (name, email, country, order number and license key) so we can support you and handle refunds.
This website
The site is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Cloudflare processes IP addresses to serve and protect the site. On devices without Apple's system font the site loads fonts from Google Fonts, and it loads animation scripts from cdnjs.cloudflare.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net; those providers receive your IP address and browser details when you visit.
How long we keep data
Activation records are kept while your license exists. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, and no longer. Email you send us is kept until the conversation is resolved and then for 2 years.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting activation records deactivates your license on those Macs. Email us and we will reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, such as the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines (privacy.gov.ph).
Changes
If we change what the app sends, we will update this page and say so in the release notes before the change ships.
